{"id":2916,"date":"2023-09-27T21:57:12","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T01:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/happierathome.com\/dev_staging\/?p=2916"},"modified":"2023-09-27T21:57:12","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T01:57:12","slug":"when-to-step-in-an-assessment-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/happierathome.com\/dev_staging\/when-to-step-in-an-assessment-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"When to Step in: An Assessment Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This &#8220;quiz&#8221; will help determine if you should consider stepping in as a caregiver or making arrangements for a caregiver to visit regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">If I were to leave the country tomorrow, would my loved ones be self-sufficient?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I would say yes, with complete confidence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I would worry, but my loved ones would be fine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I would have to hire someone to help my loved ones for a few hours every week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I would have to arrange for skilled nursing care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They cannot be left alone, so I cannot leave the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">My loved ones are in control of their mental facilities.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They show no signs of difficulty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They show minimal memory loss from time to time, but nothing serious.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They need assistance with bill paying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They sometimes forget how to get home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Their ability to make decisions is so poor that they danger themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">My loved ones are in control of their daily physical functioning.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They are as active and healthy as ever.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They need help getting out of bed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have become increasingly dependent on wheelchairs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They need additional monitoring; they have lost bladder and\/or bowel control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are bedridden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">My loved ones&#8217; medications are under control.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They do not take medications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They only take one or two mild medications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have always been able to manage their medications, but have recently become dizzy and confused.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have to help my loved ones keep track of their medications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have been hospitalized because of drug interactions, such as overdosing by forgetting to take or making a mistake with medications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">My loved ones are sociable and happy.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They are active and happy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are not as active since a recent illness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They do not go out or visit with friends as often since their spouse has died.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are increasingly reluctant to leave the house.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are depressed and housebound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This &#8220;quiz&#8221; will help determine if you should consider stepping in as a caregiver or making arrangements for a caregiver to visit regularly.
