Jan has worked in the healthcare industry for over 14 years in different roles. He is a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan and has worked at Michigan Medicine for several years in the Operating Room.
Jan’s experience began serving animals at a Veterinarian Clinic, where he rotated through the Hospital, Training Center, Rehabilitation, and Daycare/Boarding services. This included being a resource and helping hand with families dealing with the health and well-being of their beloved pet. He continued by volunteering for several organizations that work with the disabled to provide an outlet for growth and inclusion.
After spending years helping to care for several different members in his family as they grappled with their health, he ventured into the nursing field. This led him to earn a vast knowledge of the Operating Room as he continued to learn many services from Burns/Traumas to Plastic, Thoracic, and several more. He became a go to Nurse in the Operating Room for precepting new members learning the unit or a new service. He consistently seeks out opportunities to expand his knowledge and serves as a resource for newer Nurses.
His passion for assisting others has not swayed and now continues in the Home Care field. His past experiences and family challenges help guide his mission to keep individuals as independent as possible in the home they love.
Outside of work, Jan loves to travel, stay active biking or running, and can be happy anywhere near a lake.
