About Us

Kelley, Dana, and Toby came together a decade ago through their shared connections in community pharmacy and a mutual commitment to caring for people beyond the traditional healthcare setting.

Kelley contributes more than 30 years of healthcare and pharmacy leadership, ten years in Long Beach real estate, and extensive experience as a business coach to local community pharmacy owners. A longtime Long Beach resident who raised her children in the community, she understands firsthand the importance of strong local relationships. Her personal journey caring for her own mother with dementia further deepened her commitment to supporting families facing complex senior care needs.

Toby and Dana Porter bring more than 40 years of collective experience as owners of SoCal Pharmacy Group, 986 Pharmacy Whittier, and local medical equipment services. Families have long trusted them not only for pharmacy care but also for guidance in navigating the challenges of aging, independence, and in-home support.

Together, they are proud owners of Happier at Home in Long Beach, providing in-home companion care and comprehensive geriatric care management to help seniors remain safe, supported, and independent in the place they call home.

Our Team

Kelley De La Fuente

Owner

With more than three decades of experience in healthcare and pharmacy leadership, Kelley brings a strong foundation in both clinical services and business operations to her ownership role. Throughout her career, she has focused on building meaningful connections—whether with patients, providers, or community partners—always with the goal of enhancing care and improving access to essential services.

Her background includes Business Coaching, financial and inventory management, and regional training, where she coached and developed hundreds of pharmacy managers and owners to strengthen customer service, expand clinical offerings, and support employee growth. Known for her ability to blend strategic planning with a genuine care for people, she has consistently helped organizations grow while maintaining the highest standards of compassion and service.

Her passion for senior care is deeply personal. After her mother was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, Kelley became part of her care team, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges families face when navigating complex health needs. That experience continues to inspire her work, guiding her mission to ensure seniors and their families feel supported, informed, and cared for.

Outside of work, Kelley cherishes time with her family. She enjoys traveling, cooking, swimming, and long walks—and has also fostered dozens of dogs and cats over the years, reflecting her lifelong commitment to caregiving and community.

Dana Porter

Owner

Dana Porter is a business professional with a background in Business Management and Finance from USC and an MBA from Pepperdine University. With over 25 years of experience in the pharmacy industry, she and her husband, Toby, along with their pharmacist partners, own and operate independent community pharmacies across Southern California. These locations range from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet and include USPS sub-stations, Hallmark, home medical equipment, and gift boutiques.

Throughout her career, Dana has led acquisitions, negotiated purchases and sales, managed buildouts and remodels, and developed strategies to enhance front-end sales and gross margins. She has also served as Adjunct Faculty at USC’s Pharmacy School, teaching Business Management in the Community Pharmacy Elective. Currently, she oversees operations for her pharmacies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of technological advancements in the evolving pharmacy landscape.

Recognizing the shift in healthcare, Dana is now expanding into Home Companion Care as a Board-Certified Patient Advocate, leveraging her expertise to assist patients in a more personalized capacity.

Dana has served on the WSPC Pharmacy Buying Group Board of Directors, the Amerisource Bergen Elevate Advisory Board, and the REACH Board of Directors, and is an active member of Soroptimist International of Whittier. She has also been involved in numerous local boards and committees, including the Whittier Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of work, Dana enjoys yoga, walking, reading, and spending time with her husband and two boys.

Toby Porter

Owner

Toby’s wide range of capabilities built over 25 years of pharmacy industry experience provides our team a deep reservoir of knowledge with which to serve clients.  His skillset includes certification as a licensed pharmacy technician, certified orthotic fitter, home medical equipment specialist, and pharmacy manager. This exceptional breadth of professional expertise translates to great efficiency in helping patients receive the answers they seek, relief from symptoms they may be experiencing, or navigation through a complex healthcare system.

As the medical field has become increasingly digital with online services, Toby not only follows these trends, he is a leader. He oversees all technology, installations, IT, and repairs for the So Cal Pharmacy Group. He consistently seeks the path that combines the positives of digital medicine with the invaluable person-to-person care with which he is intimately familiar from his professional training in a traditional pharmacy environment.

As a business merchant and a family man raising sons in Whittier, it’s important to Toby that he and his staff be a reliable community-based health resource. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they co-directed over 20 local clinics, vaccinating the local Whittier community, as well as partnered with the East Whittier City School District to provide weekly COVID-19 antigen testing for unvaccinated employees. This partnership allowed Toby to directly impact his local community, giving back, and ensured the district’s return to learn protocols went over smoothly.

Toby is energized and inspired to extend his expertise of home medical equipment and senior care into the At Home Companion Care space where his passion for people and management can thrive.
